Advice columnist Ann Landers dead at 83

For over 40 years, Ann Landers was the world's best read and most widely syndicated newspaper column, offering a daily snapshot of a society in transition to an audience of some 90 million readers. Starting in 1987, her home base was the Chicago Tribune. She died in her East Lake Shore Drive home on June 22. She was 83.
