Mom dies before she can testify at retrial of son she helped put on death row

Jeanne Avsenew, whose testimony helped put her son on Florida’s death row four years ago, died last week, throwing a wrench into plans to retry Peter Avsenew for the 2020 murders of Stephen Adams and Kevin Powell of Wilton Manors.
