Florida’s new COVID-19 cases continue to drop, but new deaths surpass previous week

The number of COVID-19 cases in the state and South Florida continues to decline, Florida’s weekly report shows. But the toll of the omicron surge is becoming apparent as the death toll mounts, with another 1,324 new deaths this week.
